For Windows-based systems, the The guidelines below will assist with system performance, security, and university compliance

*A supported operating system is required to implement BitLocker (home versions are not supported)
**Trusted Platform Module (TPM) hardware is required to leverage native encryption with BitLocker. Leveraging TPM with Linux is being investigated.
*** Dell systems purchased through the campus UT Market system are automatically configured with a 4 year ProSupport warranty. If it's a mobile device, then Accidental Coverage is usually included as well.
