*A supported operating system is required to implement  BitLocker (home versions are not supported)

**Trusted Platform Module (TPM) hardware is required to leverage native encryption with BitLocker.  Leveraging TPM with Linux is being investigated.

***Servers storing Confidential Information will need to be encrypted.

****Dell systems purchased through the campus UT Market system are automatically configured with a 4 year ProSupport warrantyfor all UT device to reside on the university's network (wired and wireless)

A minimum of a three year extended hardware warranty is required for all computing devices.  If it's a mobile device, then Accidental Coverage is usually included as well(drops/spills) is highly recommended.
