- See your manufacturers support site to see if they have drivers for Windows 7
- Make sure your software will work in Windows 7
- Make sure you have installers (CD's, downloads etc) and licenses (serial numbers, license files, etc) for your software
- Make a note of where data is installed on the computer
Getting the Upgrade
- Contact the ECE helpdesk at help@ece.utexas.edu to arrange a time to do the upgrade (helpdesk@me.utexas.edu)when the system can be dropped off.
- Bring in the computer and show helpdesk staff all data that needs to be migrated
- Helpdesk staff will backup the entire system, install Windows 7, and move data back on to the computer
