Info
This page explains registration procedures for Rising 5th Years who have been admitted to the BSBME/MSE Integrated Program through the Step 1 application process and are registering for their first semester in graduate standing.

9 hours (3 classes) is considered full time. Make a plan for which three (3) graduate courses you wish to take in fall, being careful to check how they will count in your MSE Program of Work. The Fall Course Schedule is posted a few weeks before registration begins. The approved coursework listing shows how graduate courses count toward the MSE program of work. This list is not exhaustive. If you want to take a course that is not listed, email Dr. Edward Castillo (edward.castillo@utexas.edu) for permission to take the course.

STEP 2: ADVISING

Complete the appropriate UT BME graduate advising form found in the graduate program administrator's email message to the UT BME graduate program list serv (note our current GPA is Cyndi Goodson, cyndi.goodson@austin.utexas.edu). Cyndi will confirm via email whether the courses you've selected are matched to an appropriate coursework requirement.

Warning
Your advising bar will not be lifted until your advising form is received and processed.

Non-BME Graduate Classes: If you want to enroll in a non-BME course that is restricted, send an email to the Graduate Coordinator (GC) graduate administrator or coordinator in the department for the class. The course may require instructor approval or the course may be restricted through the first week of classes. If the course requires instructor approval, send a copy of your Reservation of Course for Graduate Credit form to the graduate program administrator as proof of instructor approval.
