A note on the design of new page: The design of all pages on the LBJ Core Site is dictated by the cohesive design provided during the web redesign process, and any decisions made to change that design will be data driven and go through an approval process with the web team, including the Web Steering Committee when necessary.

Events/Room Reservations

A specific group of people across the LBJ School has been identified as approved room reservers/event creators.

  • All students wishing to reserve a room will work with OSAA to address their needs.
  • Faculty and TAs, RAs, etc., wishing to reserve rooms will work with the faculty member’s faculty assistant.

Room Reservers will create a new event. Within the event is a place to reserve a room. View templates for creating events and for creating room reservations.

An events administrator will review the room reservation request and either approve or deny. Room reservers will receive an email when their request has been approved.

Adding Dates and Times

For an event that has only one meeting date:

  1. In the top Date field, enter the date of the event, then enter the start time in the Time field to its right.
  2. In the second Date field, enter the same date, then enter the end time in the Time field to its right.

To enter multiple dates or indicate a course schedule:

The first instance must be entered as above. Then check “Repeat.”

  1. The “Repeats” drop-down and number field below allows an indication of how frequently the event will repeat.
  2. “Repeat on” allows a selection of which days the event will occur. For example, if a course happens every Tuesday and Thursday, it would repeat Weekly every 1 week, repeating on Tuesday and Thursday.
  3. Stop repeating options include number of occurrences OR ending date, for instance, of a course.

Excluding dates can be useful, for instance, if a course will not meet over spring break. Those dates can be excluded.

Including dates allows for extra meetings of an event outside the typical repeating schedule.
