If you are not using Box Sync or still have files on the N:\ drive, you will need to use the VPN in order to connect to the UT network when you are not on campus.
The VPN may also be necessary to activate Office or Windows for computers that are rarely or never on campus.

Open the VPN application
Method 1:
Next to the Start Menu, click in the Search box and type in Cisco.
When you see Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client, click the icon to open it.Method 2:
Click the Start Menu, then click All apps.
Scroll down until you find the Cisco folder, click on it to expand it.
Then click on Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client
If the address is already entered click Connect.
Note title First Time Only: The VPN software will now prompt for the address to connect to.

Open File Explorer
Windows 10Windows 7- In the address bar type in \\austin.utexas.edu\disk\law and press enter.
If you drag a folder to "Quick access" (Windows 7 - "Favorites") using this method, the shortcut will continue to function even if the N:\ drive does not appear.
