►       Clear all filters and return to default settings by selecting Revert at the bottom or top of the page (you can return an individual filter to its default settings by selecting  above the filter drop down menu).

Example 1: What percentage of the university workforce works part-time?

  • Move the cursor to the Full-Time/Part-Time column on the far right of the dashboard, mouse over the Part-Time portion of the pie chart (light colored), the pop-up tip reveals 13.72% of employees are part-time (1,876 employees).
  • Move the cursor to the upper right hand corner of the page and select the Table button to change the graph visualization to a table. The far right column shows that 13.72% of the university workforce (1,876 employees) works part-time. Select the Graph button to return to the graphical visualization.

Example 2: How many employees at the university are veterans, work full-time, and are between 40 and 70 years old with salary rates between $20,000 and $70,000?

  • Start at the Veteran color key, click Veteran.
  • Move the mouse to the Part-Time/Full-Time color key, click Full-Time.
  • Move the cursor to the Salary Increment filter at the top right of the page, click on the existing value, enter 20000, hit enter.
  • Move the cursor left to the Salary Range filter, click the down arrow, click All to remove all of the checks, click $20,000, $40,000, and $60,000, click Apply.
  • Move the cursor to the upper left of the page to the Age Increment filter, use the slider or > to increase the increment to 20.
  • Move the cursor left to the Age Range filter, click the down arrow, click All to remove all of the checks, click 40 and 60, click Apply.
  • In the Current Headcounts column (left side of the dashboard), it shows 278 employees meet these criteria.
  • To view the results in tabular form, click on the Table button in the upper right corner of the page.  Click on the column heading Veteran, read in the Full-Time column that there are 278 full-time veterans at the university between 40 and 70 years old with salary rates between $20,000 and $70,000.
  • Print the dashboard if desired.
  • Click on the Revert button at the bottom or top of the page to undo the filters.

Example 3: What proportion of your workforce in a specific department is male with a post high school education and works part-time?

  • Start by clicking on Image Removedin the upper right corner of the page.
  • Go to the Education filter in the upper right of the page, click on the down arrow, click on unknown, < HS, and High School to uncheck them. Click on Apply.
  • Identify the department of interest in the Gender column. (You may have to scroll down to find it.)
  • Click on the Male portion of the pie chart. Mouse over the Part-Time portion of the Full-Time/Part-Time pie chart in the last column to see what proportion of males are part-time.
  • To display the information in tabular form, click on the Table button in the upper right corner of the page.
  • Identify the department of interest in the Gender column. (You may have to scroll down to find it.)
  • Click on the Male count or percentage. Read what proportion of males are part-time from the Part-Time portion of the Full-Time/Part-Time table in the last column.
  • Print the dashboard if desired.
  • Click on the Revert button at the bottom or top of the page to undo the filters.
