title	Prerequisites

You must have permission to login to the computer remotely. This is turned off by default. If you don't have remote access, or if you're not sure if you do, create a ticket with CNS IT.
You must know the computer name or IP address of your on-campus computer. The computer name for the Stat Apps Server is wincompute.cns.utexas.edu
You must have Duo Two Factor Authentication set up with a phone or code-generating token. See the FAQs for which Duo authentication methods are supported.
For VNC and SSH connections, you must have the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client for the UT VPN installed.

Signing into the Stat Apps Server? Here's the information you need:

The computer name is wincompute.cns.utexas.edu

If you’re using a Mac, you must have the Microsoft Remote Desktop application installed

title	Connect from Mac to Mac/Linux via VNC

Connect to the UT VPN.
Using the Spotlight Search (the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner), search for and open Screen Sharing.
In the window that appears, enter the computer name or IP address of your computer. Click Connect.
When asked for a username and password, use your EID and EID password and click OK.
