Content Comparison

The pages in this category describe metadata profiles that are implemented across various categories. These profiles are specific to metadata types (technical, access, descriptive), which the PCDM refersmetadata for hospital records in the dark archive will use the schema described in these pages. These pages are modeled after the visual format and content adopted by the Digital Public Library of America. This schema is developed on a document data model, which is best suited for storing both multiple instances of fields (for example, multiple and growing preservation events) as well as sparse data, where several fields may not be instantiated at all (for example, retention schedules in compliance metadata).
