Academic and Research Support

Research with Faculty

Students are encouraged to meet with faculty during office hours to explore mutual research interests. Collaborating on faculty-led research can be highly beneficial, especially when working on qualifying documents or dissertations.

Authorship Guidelines

Refer to the APA Ethical Principles and the Publication Manual of the APA for standards related to research collaboration and authorship.

Statistics and Data Consulting

The Department of Statistics and Data Sciences offers limited amount free consulting on research design and data analysis. Support includes email consultations, in-person and phone appointments, and software training. Note: Consultants do not assist with coursework or homework.

Library Resources

The UT Libraries system offers extensive research support and access to academic databases. Most Educational Psychology students use the Perry-Castañeda Library (PCL). Resources can be accessed both on and off campus with your UT EID.

Some Educational Psychology classes require specific statistical software. Check with your Area Chair and/or instructor about license availability or purchasing options.

Parking and Transportation

Parking on Campus

Students may purchase parking permits through Parking & Transportation Services. Options include garage, surface lot, and motorcycle permits. A limited number of 15-30 minute parking spots are available near the Sanchez Building (SZB). Parking is sometimes available in University garages at hourly rates or at parking meters on campus.

Public Transportation

All UT students may ride Capital Metro buses, MetroRail, and MetroRapid services for free with a valid UT ID. More info: Capital Metro.
