1 | Look for the assigned Patient | Access the Spanish CS Speech Data Analysis, Catalan CS Speech Data Analysis, or English CS Speech Data Analysis Smartsheet - Make sure the clinician associated with the patient has uploaded the audio to box; this can be found under the column "Audios uploaded and copied to box" and that your name appears in the "RA student" column
 - Under the column "Enrolled in Study," check type of study

1.1 | Access the Transcription Folder that Corresponds with the Patient's Enrollment in the Study | - Select the appropriate Transcription Folder based on the patient's enrollment:
- Therapy trial or Observational trial
 - Spanish, Catalan, or English
(This can be found highlighted in yellow under the "Transcriptions" column)

1.2 | Download the audio file (or files) | - Download the audio file associated with the patient.
- The patient code will be the first part of the title (ex: BISE004_BACC003_CS1_Cat_Obs1part1_20230515.wav)

2 | Open Audacity | Open Audacity Version 3.4.2 *If audacity is showing an error page when trying to import audio files, follow the instructions using the following link to install the FFmpeg plug-in: https://support.audacityteam.org/basics/installing-ffmpeg

2.1 | Open the patient audio file | - On audacity, look for the tab "File/Activo," then select "open/abrir" from the drop-down menu
- Choose the patient audio file you wish to clip from your downloads
- Once you've located the patient audio in Audacity, click "open/abrir"

3 | Clipping audio files in Audacity: Listen to the audio file | - Listen to the audio sample by pressing
on the top left-hand corner.
- Listen until you've reached the beginning of a task, then press "Control +B" to clip the audio (Make sure to press both buttons at the same time)
- Make sure to check that there is no clinician speech!

3.1 | Name the task | 1. Use the Naming Convention associated with the task (The third PowerPoint slide) and enter it into the purple box:
***Note that all Non-R01 and R01 patients will have set 3 in addition to Set 1 or Set 2, and Pre-R01s will only have set 3*** |

3.2 | Listen to the audio until the patient has finished the task | - After the patient has finished the task, press "Control + B" and enter "ZZZ" into the purple box.
- **Note for the "KINDNESS" and "BRIDGE" tasks, you will need to clip each individual question associated with the task (ie: there should be 9 total clippings for the one task)
- You can find the specific questions that accompany these tasks under the Naming Convention page

3.4 | Clip the remaining tasks | - Repeat steps 3 -3.2
- At this point, you can simply copy and paste the naming convention from step 3.2 and change the task name.
- To know which tasks come next, use the corresponding report on Smartsheet and follow the tasks under the appropriate set:
- Spanish Set 1 and 3 / Spanish Set 2 and 3 / Pre-R01 Spanish
- Catalan Set 1 and 3/ Catalan Set 2 and 3/ Pre-R01 Catalan
- English Set 1 and 3/English Set 2 and 3/ Pre-R01 English
- Once you have finished listening to the last task, make sure you enter "ZZZ" in the purple box to ensure non-task-related speech is excluded from the audio clipping!!!

4 | Export the Audio Clippings | - After all audios have been clipped and clinician speech has been deleted, click "File/Activo" on the top left-hand corner of audacity and then click "Export audio/Exportar audio" from the drop-down menu.
- Click on the circle for "Multiple files/Múltiples archivos" next to the option "Export Range/Rango de exportación"
- Under "Dividir archivo basados en" click the circle for "Etiquetas"
- Make sure you note where the clipped audio files will be saved on the desktop — Recommendation: Create a folder called "Audacity"

- Next, click "Export/exportar" (it may take a few seconds for all the audios to be exported)

6 | Saving the Audacity Project | - After the audios have been exported, select "Upload/Activo" again, then select "Save project/Guardar proyecto"
- Make sure to add the word "CLIPPED" to the project name before saving

7 | Upload the clipped audios and saved project to box | - Go back to where you downloaded the original audio file, click the folder "1. Clipped audios of tasks," then upload the audios to their respective task folders (ex: S1_CatRescue_PictureStoryDescription)
- Go back to where you downloaded the original file, click the folder "Z. Clipped audacity projects," then upload the clipped audacity project
- **Make sure they are uploaded as .wav files

8 | Update the Smartsheet and Report sheet | - Go back to the appropriate Smartsheet from step 1; Use the drop-down option under "Audio clipped for all tasks" and select completed.
 - Lastly, go to the appropriate CS report from step 3.4 and select "Completed" for each task clipped.
- Find the column entitled "Audios Clipped for All Tasks," then click the drop-down menu associated with the patient and select complete.
