Use Object Geography to catalogue the Nationality or Culture of an object's maker and the place made. Nationality/Culture in the object is in addition to cataloguing the maker's nationality in their constituent record. Nationality was recorded instead of place made in the legacy database and is the most consistent way to query for an object's geographic details.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Use the action button next to Geography in the record hierarchy and select "Add Object Geography"
  2. In the pop up window select the Geography Type you'd like to add (Nationality, Culture, or Place Made)
  3. Select the Continent
  4. Select the appropriate form for Country,
    1. adjective form for Nationality (American, Mexican)
    2. noun form for Place Made (United States, Mexico)
  5. Select State when adding Place Made, United States only
  6. Select City for Place Made when known
  7. For South, Central, and Carribbean Caribbean countries also select "Latin America" for the Cultural Region
