Code42 is a robust, cloud-based, backup solution. It is licensed by the University of Texas, and is intended to be the primary backup software for all university Windows, Mac, and Linux computers.
If you need to install a new instance of Code42 to backup your computer:
- Open a web browser and navigate to https://console.us2.crashplan.com
- In the "Username or email" field, enter your username in the format: <EID>@eid.utexas.edu, then click Sign In.

10. Ensure there is a check mark in the box next to your EID, then click Save. You are now done, and your computer is backing up automatically.
To reauthenticate with Code42:
- Occasionally you will need to reauthenticate with Code42. This mainly happens when there are major Code42 updates.
- Open the Code42 application on your computer (either on the program list or by clicking the icon
