Step-by-step guide
- You must be on campus, or connected to the campus VPN to access the SFTP server. If you attempt to access this from off campus it will simply fail with no error or warning.
- Open a FTP/SFTP client of your choice
- For the host use either filetransfer.biomedimaging.utexas.edu or sftp://filetransfer.biomedimaging.utexas.edu (which one you use is dependent on the FTP/SFTP client you chose).
- Under username copy and paste the username from the Stache entry for your lab. Its name is in the format "<Labname> Filetransfer SFTP Account"
- For the password use the password provided in the Stache entry above.
- You'll see folders named after the scan protocol you used, it is usually easiest to download the entire folder at once.
- The dicoms will be in a single directory. Tools like dcm2nii can operate on them as is, but if you need to separate them into folders it is usually easiest to import them into a freely available dicom viewer then reexport them.

Data will only appear in your SFTP account if you set the "Referring Physician" field on the scanner to the name of your Principle Investigator. If you fail to set your "Referring Physician" field correctly you will have to collect your data manually. Data from the Skyra will be available same day of scan, but data from the Vida must be manually pushed to our PACS to appear here. |
