Student Teacher Semester
Initial Contact Form - Field Supervisor completes PowerForm within first three weeks of student teaching placement.
Three Way Conference - Field Supervisor completes this PowerForm per placement at the beginning of each one.
Formal Observations - Field Supervisors complete these via PowerForm. Per updated TAC 228 code, Student Teachers placed in one district over the course of the student teaching semester must have four formal observations. Student Teachers placed in two different districts over the course of the semester must have six formal observations, split between the two placements.
Informal Observations - Field Supervisor completes this via PowerForm. Field Supervisor must complete 3 informal observations. Each informal observation must be at least fifteen minutes. The first one must be in person, and the remaining two may be either virtual or in-person, synchronous or asynchronous. Student Teacher automatically receives a completed copy when the form is complete. Form is automatically uploaded into Box.
Formative & Summative Assessment - These evaluations are completed online using Docusign PowerForms. Summative Assessments must be completed for every student teacher by both the field supervisor and cooperating teacher, and then reviewed by both the student and coordinator before being routed to the UTeach Program Coordinator for final approval.
TEA Observation Record Log and TEA Observation Record Log Example and Information - Field supervisors are to email the TEA Observation Record Log for student teachers at the end of the semester to the UTeach Fine Arts Program Coordinator and the Field Experiences office at madeleine.cleveland@austin.utexas.edu and fieldexp@austin.utexas.edu.
