(Or, Linux for the hopeless)

This is intended for the folks who haven't taken the plunge and installed Linux on anything yet.  Or have gotten something like a Raspberry Pi and

would like to be able to get around better on the command line and set up some basic security etc.  I've been a big fan of Unix based systems since

the nineties when I worked on my first minicomputer aboard USS Doyle.  I'm no expert.  I do have a good bit of practical knowledge that may be useful.

I'm hoping I can help some folks who are starting out with Linux and get myself to learn more to keep up with what I anticipate may be some interesting questions!

First meeting will be April 24th at Noon in BME 3.206.  Feel free to bring your lunch.  Topic #1 will be an install of Ubuntu on a laptop which already has Windows.

For a document that has some basic Linux commands you get download from box.  https://utexas.box.com/s/qngn86m9ernym442o0ib9zsbchxwjb5j
