Steps in this Helpsheet:

Be sure to press the LAPTOP button on this screen.

There are three ways to connect your laptop

Press the corresponding button on the screen to choose how you are connected.

Locate Cables

Locate the cable bundle on top of the desk. This cable bundle contains an HDMI connection for audio and video, and a 1/8" mini audio plug for analog audio.

Connect Cables

Direct HDMI Connection

If your laptop has an HDMI port you will use this port and cable.  Plug the HDMI cable on the desk directly into the HDMI port on your laptop.

NOTE: you may have to disconnect the HDMI to USB-C adapter that is attached to the HDMI cable.

HDMI to USB-C Adapter Connection

If your laptop only has USB-C, or doesn't have a HDMI port, you can use the HDMI to USB-C adapter that is attached to the cable on the desk.

If you do not have the correct inputs on your laptop to plug in the HDMI to USB-C adapter, please contact the Help Desk (512-471-1199) in CMA 3.104.

The mini audio plug is used for audio only.  If your computer's sound doesn't work when using the HDMI cable you can plug the mini audio cable into the headphone jack on your laptop and choose one of the options on the touch panel with the mini audio cable.

If you have never used your laptop in one of our Moody classrooms, you will need to set the OUTPUT of the laptop to CRESTRON.

How to change the Audio Output on your Mac laptop

You will only need to change this setting the very first time you connect your laptop to a classroom AV system

Click on the Apple icon and
go down to System Settings

Click on SOUND from the left side menu.

Under the Output & Input section:

choose Output and click on Crestron

This will send your laptop's audio to the speakers in the room.
