If you need to enhance or alter your audio, AVID provides plugins that will bring up a GUI where you can control and visualize the changes made.This is good for removing humming, hissing, crackling, isolating voice-over, etc...


On the AVID Timeline place the Blue Timeline Indicator

on the clip you want to add the plugin

Go to >Tools>AudioSuite

iZotope Plugins are the best for cleaning up audio

These are only available in these labs: CMA 4.144,

CMA 5th floor podcast rooms,

CMB 4.120 and CMB 4.112


To add the plugin

Click on the dropdown and

>Choose >NoiseReduction>RX 11 Voice De-Noise


De-noise is best for getting rid of constant background noise akin to white noise.





Or try this plugin

>Choose >NoiseReduction>RX 11 Dialogue Isolate


Dialogue Isolate is best for getting rid of background noise that is not consistent,

such as background conversations or music.

Click on the purple Plugin Icon to access the Plugin Settings

>Click on the presets button

These two presets are helpful Total De-Noise and and De-Reverb

This Plugin De-noise is another noise reduction plugin mentioned earlier


Choose a Preset that seems to fit what you want to do

Ex: Light Auto Denoising - Dialogue

You can start to make adjustments and select the "Preview" button

to hear your changes.

click on Bypass to hear w/o the changes





Then click the Render Button once you are happy with the changes
