1. First open the timeline and select the video and audio tracks to export.

  1. Next go to >File>Export>

  1. Choose "QuickTime" Reference as the Export Setting

  1. Click on "Options"

  1. Choose Export As: Quicktime Reference






    Color Levels – RGB




    Leave all other defaults checked





    Click "Save"

  1. Title the file as what you want to save the file as


    Navigate to the hard drive and folder you want to save the file to


    Make sure the Export Setting is set to QuickTime Reference


    Click "Save"

  1. The .mov is the only file you will be using. The export will make two files but only use the .mov.

  1. Launch Adobe Encoder
    Icon is in the dock or look for it in the Applications folder

  1. Click the "+" icon in the project window that opens or you can simply drag and drop your file to be compressed into the grey portion of the window

  1. After clicking the "+" icon, navigate to the file on the hard drive and click Open.

  1. When the file loads into the project window, click on the "Format" tab dropdown and click on "H.264"

  1. Next click on the "Preset" tab and scroll down the dropdown and select Vimeo HD

  1. Click on the "Output" tab and choose where to save the compressed file

  1. Click on the "Play" icon to begin the compression

  1. The Current Encode window will show estimated time and processing information
