Get Thunderbird

You can obtain a free download of Thunderbird from the Mozilla website at - https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/

Set up your Office 365 account

After installing Thunderbird:

Launch Thunderbird and choose to create a Email account
Enter your name, email address, password, and select Remember Password (optional)

Thunderbird may fail the initial attempt to configure your account settings. Proceed with entering the following information in the manual/advanced configuration page presented.

Incoming Server Settings

IMAP
Server hostname: outlook.office365.com
Port: 993
SSL: SSL/TLS
Authentication: Normal Password

Outgoing Server Settings

Server hostname: smtp.office365.com
Ports: 587
SSL: STARTTLS
Authentication: Normal Password

Username (Incoming and Outgoing): your email address (e.g., yourusername@austin.utexas.edu)

Click Done.

If you didn't save your word, you will be prompted for your UT Office365 (EID) password
