NPL relies on volunteers and student interns to fill a variety of niches. We work hard to promote a work environment that is relaxed, effective,  and rewarding.

There is so much to do, and so much to learn. You may not always be able to bring a task to completion before being assigned a new task. This is quite normal! NPL has priorities it must meet, and we also try very hard to make sure everyone has a chance to learn new things.

You have now finished all of the required reading for NPL orientation. As mentioned earlier in this chapter, everyone does a stint on foam cutting  and now it's time to get that taken care of! A staff member or experienced volunteer can help set you up with the supplies you'll be needing.
