Microsoft Planner and Project are available in several different versions:
Planner (available at no additional cost to most faculty and staff)
Planner and Project Plan 3 (available to University departments for an additional fee)
Planner and Project Plan 5 (available to University departments for an additional fee)

At present, Planner Plan 1 is not available for higher education institutions. |
Project Online is being retired on September 30, 2026. Starting April 1, 2026, the creation of new Project Web App (PWA) sites will be blocked, and existing PWA sites without projects will be made inaccessible. Microsoft is prioritizing innovation within Planner and a new generation of work management tools designed to be more intuitive, scalable, and powered by AI. |
