For students starting fall 2016 and later
- Prepare written research proposal
- Form dissertation committee in consultation with supervisor and set date and location for oral exam two months in advance
- Give research proposal to committee at least one week prior to oral exam, for review
- Submit Chemical Engineering Candidacy Examination Form electronically to the graduate coordinator at least one week prior to the exam for approval by the graduate advisor
- Prepare presentation following the time requirements above
- Bring printed Chemical Engineering Candidacy Examination Form signed by graduate advisor
- Submit completed form to the graduate coordinator
- Complete online application to candidacy on the Graduate School website: https://gradschool.utexas.edu/academics/theses-and-dissertations/doctoral-candidacy
- Register for -99R, and the next semester register for -99w.
- Continue to register for -99w every semester, including the semester you graduate
