The Austin Active Directory Department Tools provide a web-based interface to a subset of objects in the Austin Active Directory. The Department Tools were originally implemented to address account management concerns by UT's Internal Audits department. The Department Tools have been since expanded address concerns and customer requests regarding group management and group policy creation.

The Departmen Tools consist of the following customer facing applications:

• Department User Tools - The Department User Tools enable department IT staff to manage non-EID user resources in the Austin Active Directory
• AAD - Department Group Tools - The Department Group Tools provide an additional interface to Active Directory group management
• Department GPO Tools - The Department GPO Tools allow department IT staff to quickly create GPOs with the correct set of permissions

The Department Tools also consist of a small set of internal tools utilized by ITS to simplify processes for customers that cannot be delegated:

• AAD - Department Cloud Tools - The Department Cloud Tools enable ITS staff to map Active Directory groups to AWS management groups
