    • Co-Dependents Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women whose common purpose is to develop healthy relationships. The only requirement for membership is a desire for healthy and      fulfilling relationships.

  • Alcoholic Anonymous by Hill Country Intergroup Association
    • Alcoholics Anonymous is an international fellowship of men and women who have had a drinking problem. It is nonprofessional, self-supporting, multiracial, apolitical, and available almost everywhere.

  • Online Community and Meetings by In the Room
    • In The Rooms free online recovery tool provides recovering addicts a place to meet and socialize when they’re not in face-to-face meetings to share their strength and experience with one another daily helping each other along their recovery journeys. We offer weekly live online meetings, covering a variety of topics, groups, and treatment methods. Some of our most popular meetings are our 12 step ones, where we have a variety of AA, NA, Al-Anon, and Nar-Anon meetings, among others. We also offer support for the family and friends of those in recovery, In The Rooms has both Al-Anon and Nar-Anon meetings and Adult Children Anonymous (ACA) group.

  • Encore House
    • Encore House is a Halfway house located in Austin, TX that helps ex-offenders adjust to life in general society. Encore House can house 50 men in either a single or a shared room. No meals are included and it is drug and alcohol free.

  • Oxford House of Texas
    • Oxford House is a concept in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. Oxford House describes a democratically run, self-supporting and drug free home. 
    • cost: Average rent for our houses is between $120 - $140 a week, ALL BILLS PAID. Our homes do not include food in their costs.
  • Recovery Centered Living
    • Recovery Centered Living is a sober living community in Austin, Texas dedicated to helping those seeking sobriety engage in a space in which they can be free from those with active addictions or addiction triggers.
    • To obtain membership at RCL houses, there must be a successful interview
    • All members are required to have a minimum of 25 hours of verifiable employment, be enrolled in nine hours of school, or have secured a 25-hour volunteer position within two weeks of their move-in date.

  • Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) BY The Salvation Army of Austin
    • The Adult Rehabilitation Center provides short term residential housing along with spiritual, social, and emotional assistance for men and women with a history of substance abuse and / or those who have lost the ability to cope with their problems and provide for themselves. 
    • This program helps people who are 21 to 65 years old.
    • Must be sober at time of intake.
    • Must commit to entire 6 month program.
    • May not be on the sex offender registry or have arson convictions.

Substance Use Disorder and Addiction Services 

  • Women's Residential Detox Center: The Way Out Women's Center (WOWC)
    • Residential treatment at the detox facility is non-medical. Treatment is offered free of charge, and length of stay varies, but is typically 10 or more days.
  • Addiction & Recovery Services by  Clean Investments Inc.
    • Clean Investments offers a variety of services and therapies designed to stabilize people struggling with substance abuse and addiction and help them become productive members of their communities.

  • Behavioral Health Services by  CommUnityCare
    • Behavioral health providers work closely with our primary care provider team to offer timely, culturally sensitive and comprehensive health care services. The behavioral health care providers use a variety of brief therapy approaches to assist patients challenged by mild to moderate behavioral disorders. This includes substance abuse disorders. 

    • CommUnityCare provides primary care, dental, and specialty services to all residents of Travis County and the surrounding areas regardless of ability to pay.

  • Narcotic Treatment by Integral Care
    • This program provides adults who live with substance use disorder or are addicted to opioids, opiate and heroin with a safe place to recover under medical supervision. Services include: access to Methadone and Buprenorphine, medical supervision, counseling, substance use and addiction education, relapse prevention techniques, Methadone Anonymous support and HIV education.
  • Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) by Integral Care
    • Our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program provides treatment, rehabilitation and mental health support services to adults living with mental illness and substance use disorder who have experienced multiple hospitalizations.

  • Outpatient Detox Program by Integral Care
    • This program provides detox services for up to 27 days to adults who use substances like alcohol or opioids. Staff provide medical supervision combined with counseling, substance use disorder education, outpatient groups and one-on-one counseling to prevent relapse. Adults in the program are also given referrals to other agency and community resources for ongoing treatment and recovery services.

  • Community AIDS Resources and Education (C.A.R.E.) by Integral Care
    • This program helps adults living with or at risk of getting HIV who also live with a mental illness and/or use alcohol or drugs. We offer mental health services and drug and alcohol treatment. Services include individual and group counseling, education and harm reduction supplies like needle cleaning kits, safer smoking kits and opioid overdose kits. We also have an outreach team in the community providing referral and linkage to community services.

  • The Salvation Army Texas - Bryan College Station
    • The Salvation Army of Texas Rehabilitation Program provides spiritual, social and emotional assistance for men and women who have lost the ability to cope with their problems and provide for themselves.
  • Opioid Treatment Services
    • Community Medical Services is able to provide Suboxone, Generic Suboxone, and Buprenorphine, to our patients based on our Physicians’ assessment of your needs. These programs can be effective for individuals who are physically dependent on opiates such as Oxycontin, Percocet, Demorol, Codeine, and Morphine.
    • Counseling is offered during business hours, Monday through Friday.

Detox

  • Medication Assisted Treatment for Addictions (MAT) by  Bluebonnet Trails Community Services
    • This program provides:
      - outpatient treatment
      - detox from alcohol until transfer to rehab placement for otherwise healthy people
      - stabilization after discontinuation of methamphetamine or cocaine
      - Safe transfer from short-acting benzodiazepines (e.g. Xanax, Ativan) to longer-acting benzodiazepines (diazepam, librium) to support a longer-term outpatient detox.

  • Inpatient and Outpatient Detox by Cenikor Foundation
    • Cenikor’s medically-supported detoxification services help stabilize clients going through the active withdrawal symptoms associated with substance use disorders. Professional assistance is especially important in this critical period on the path to long-term recovery and a happy healthy life.

    • Our alcohol and drug detox programs offer you the time to heal, both physically and emotionally. We provide integrated, medically supervised care that helps your body adjust to change, while helping your mind learn new ways to cope with the stressors in your life.

    • Brazos Recovery Services provides individualized In-Patient Substance Use Disorder Treatment to adult males struggling with addiction. The program’s caring and compassionate professionals help clients build a foundation for sustainable recovery so they may function effectively at home, at work and in the community.

  • Inpatient Alcohol/Chemical Dependency Detoxification Programs by  Seton Healthcare Family
    • Ascension Seton Shoal Creek offers adult inpatient detoxification programs for patients 18 years and older. Medical stabilization is the primary goal of the Adult Chemical Dependency Detoxification Inpatient Program, while the Dual Recovery Inpatient component is designed specifically for patients with a mental illness and a dependency.

    • The Oak Springs Treatment Program is an intensive outpatient treatment program helps adults living with mental illness and substance use disorder.

  • Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program by  Austin Changes Counseling & Education Services
    • The Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a six weeks group therapy course for those who are currently experiencing problems related to substance abuse and having difficulty discontinuing the use, or are experiencing problems at work, home, or school due to substance abuse.

  • Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) by Georgetown Behavioral Health Institute (GBHI)
    • Georgetown Behavioral Health Institute's Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offers two models of psychiatric outpatient care: the traditional Intensive Outpatient Program and a Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program (CD-IOP).
      • This program helps people who are older than 17 years old.
      • Must be currently suffering from and/or recently diagnosed with a related mental health or substance abuse concern
      • Must not currently qualify for or no longer responds to inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization, or individual therapy
      • Must have completed inpatient detoxification program (if necessary)
    • cost: Must have Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Medicaid, or Tricare for reduced cost services.
  • Behavioral Health Care Outpatient Services by Seton Healthcare Family
    • Ascension Seton provides intensive outpatient treatment to adults who may be experiencing emotional or substance abuse difficulties. Many of the patients in our programs have tried individual therapy, medication, or self-help groups with little success.

  • The Right Step
    • The intensive outpatient programs provide structure and support that help create a sober routine, make changes in thoughts and behaviors, and establish a support network. Outpatient treatment for drugs and alcohol is ideal for someone who is already on the recovery journey and ready to return to work, school or other responsibilities and need help with this transition.

    • We provide compassionate outpatient treatment and prevention services for teens and adults with substance use disorders. 

    • cost: sliding scale; Our adolescent residential and intensive outpatient services accept some managed Medicaid, CHIP, Department of State and Human Services, and Northstar plans. Sliding scale is also available.
  • Online Outpatient Programs by  Austin Recovery
    • Austin Recovery offers a variety of levels of outpatient treatment to clients who are able to stay clean and sober on their own but are at high-risk for relapse. Austin Recovery Intensive Outpatient Program helps clients create a stable environment by giving them structure and support while they establish a solid foundation for recovery.

    • During a thorough evaluation the psychiatrist will be able to determine the specific diagnosis, identify any co-occurring disorders, as well as any unique features pertaining to the disorder.

    • Our Substance Use Disorder Program offers a number of options for all eligible veterans seeking treatment for substance use problems. Available treatments address all types of problems related to substance use, from unhealthy use of alcohol to life-threatening addictions.

Comprehensive Mental Health Services

  • OSAR (Outreach, Screening, Assessment, and Referral
    • Our dedicated licensed staff provides assessments and referrals to those who are actively seeking substance use services and/or support. The OSAR Team conducts verbal screenings to gather information pertaining to severity of use and how use has impacted day to day functioning or mental health, in order to provide appropriate referrals to recovery resources.

      • Interventions: Following the assessment and screening, individuals can expect short-term case management services in addition to the opportunity of up to 6 brief motivational interviewing sessions with their OSAR counselor.

      • Support: OSAR counselors are available for additional support and case management until the individual successfully enters into their referred treatment service. Our OSAR counselors can also remain as a point of contact for future recovery support needs. For uninsured or underinsured individuals, the OSAR team can determine if you are approved for full or partial financial assistance towards your referred treatment services.

      • Referrals:Once the needs of an individual have been identified for best outcomes of their recovery, the referred services may include intensive outpatient services, residential substance use services or additional community supports.

  • Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Care by CARMAhealth
    • CARMAhealth offers comprehensive care and support for mental health issues that drive substance use disorder. Our experienced, compassionate specialists help each patient find the treatment options that will work best for their unique situation.
    • Providers can offer continuation of beneficial psychotropic medications in addition to initial diagnosis and treatment.

  • Mental Health Services During COVID-19 Crisis by Integral Care

  • Rock Springs Partial Hospitalization 
    • Rock Springs is a newly-constructed, 72-bed specialty hospital located just north of Austin. We provide inpatient and outpatient treatment services to children, adolescents and adults suffering from mental illness and/or addiction.
    • The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides structured therapy five days a week. Patients typically spend 5-6 hours per day participating in psychotherapy groups, recreational therapy and educational groups.

  • Austin Lakes Hospital (IOP, PHP, and inpatient)
    • Offers inpatient, intensive outpatient, and Partial Hospitalization Program
    • Offers crisis stabilization in a confidential, caring environment that promotes crisis resolution, positive self-awareness, social skills and personal growth. We have been treating individuals from Central Texas and beyond for many years. Some of the mental health issues we treat include: depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. We offer a continuum of psychiatric services for children and adolescents, ages 4-17, and for adults, age 18 and older.

    • DACC Case Management aims to provide comprehensive, long term services to Frequent Offenders of the Community Court experiencing homelessness.     • The Semicolon Group provides Individual Therapy for teens and young adults who have survived a suicide attempt and/or struggle with suicidal thoughts, and with people of all ages who have lost someone to suicide or are supporting a loved one with a suicide experience. For most, individual therapy is the first place where talking about suicide is okay and received without judgment.

    • The Samaritan Center has been serving individuals and families in Central Texas since 1974. We envision a healthy and compassionate community where every individual achieves mental, physical, spiritual and social well-being. 

Treatment for Adolescents

  • Sage Recovery Intensive Outpatient for Adolescents
    • The therapeutic modality underpinning our outpatient services is Dialectical Behavior Therapy which promotes autonomous regulation of emotions through tangible skills and mindfulness practices.
  • Residential Treatment Center by Phoenix House Texas
    • Our compassionate experts help teen boys struggling with drug use get back on track socially, emotionally, and academically.
  • The Ranch Achievement Program
    • The Ranch Achievement Program provides intensive psychiatric day treatment and required education for children, ages 8-17. It is designed to evaluate and treat psychiatric and behavioral symptoms that are too severe to be managed in outpatient therapy alone, but do not require a 24-hour controlled environment. The program is a treatment option that may prevent hospitalization and can serve as a transition from inpatient care. The Ranch Achievement Program utilizes The University of Texas Charter School to provide required educational components.
