Batch Re-Size Images

Images must be downscaled for TMS web application. Standard ratio should be no larger than 1920 x 1920 px and 72 dpi resolution. 

Initial Set Up Steps

Use the Adobe Bridge application for automated batch processing of image files. 

  1. In Adobe Bridge use the "Essentials" workspace
  2. At the left, select the EXPORT tab and click Create New Preset
  3. Name the Preset as "TMS surrogates"
  4. Select the folder destination for the "Export To" option. Either in same folder, or select your own destination
    1. If you are exporting to the original file location, click to create a new subfolder named "TMS Surrogates" to separate them from your original files
  5. Select JPG as the Image Format and Image Quality = 10
  6. Select Resize To and designate the long edge to fit to 1920px, and 72 dpi resolution
  7. Tick Do Not Enlarge
  8. Include all original metadata
  9. Save the preset



Run a Batch Resize

  1. Open your files to re-size in Bridge or in Finder
  2. Select the files you'd like to re-size
  3. Drag and drop files over your named preset (TMS Surrogates)
  4. When the job is set, and the preset shows (1 Job, X files) click Start Process
  5. A progress window will appear and provide a link to view your exported files in the designated location
