How to Record Only Audio and Slides in Zoom
Most McCombs classrooms are outfitted with a wireless microphone system, a Zoom computer, a floor monitor and an auto-tracking camera. However, some small classrooms do not have these capabilities. In these rooms a lecturer can use Zoom to record only the audio and slides of their meetings for future review.
- Login to Zoom at utexas.zoom.us
- Click the Settings tab on the left sidebar and then the Recording tab at the top of the Settings screen
- Check "Record active speaker with shared screen" and uncheck "Record thumbnails when sharing"
- This will allow a lecturer to record only the audio from their laptop or external microphone as well as whatever screen is being shared during the meeting
