Policies of The Lab, The Lounge, and The Conference Room:
Only water is allowed inside the rooms – no outside food or drinks unless it is a special event.
Wipe down the white boards after each class.
Move tables back to original placement.
Vacuum and sweep up any crumbs, debris, etc.
Vacuum and broom are available in the copy room beside the shred bin.
Wipe down tables with provided Clorox wipes and/or Clorox spray and paper towels as needed if they become dirty during your class.
Lock the door with your key card after each use.
Lock the side glass doors of The Lab after each class.
The Why:
With cold and flu season upon us and covid cases still present, it is important to keep the tables clean to protect students, staff, and faculty from getting sick. Facilities does not clean the rooms daily outside of taking out the trash.
Unfortunately, we have had instances where technology has been broken due to spilled drinks, so we ask that only water be brought in to prevent this from happening again. The caveat being unless there is a special event you are hosting.
We have had several instances lately of the rooms being used outside of class times and without reservations, that then had to be cleaned up by the next class/group.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Rheanne Pecsenye the Program Coordinator for The Lab at rheanne.pecsenye@austin.utexas.edu.
