Davinci Resolve - How to Add The RTF Content Warning To Your Timeline
Download the .drt file to import into your Resolve Project

Click on the above link and choose >Download from the upper right corner to download the templates |

Double click the zipped file to open it |
|
Select the Resolve-Content Warning template.drt file and download it to your storage drive We are going to be working with the .drt file for Davinci Resolve

Open Davinci Resolve |
|
Select the final version of the timeline for export Duplicate that timeline

Open the duplicated timeline by double clicking it to load in the edit window
Then Right Click on the top most video track and add a track | |
Then import the .drt file into the project Go to >File>Import>Media |

Import the .drt |
|
When you import the .drt it’ll load the timeline.
Double click the Text - Content WARNING to load into the Text Editor to modify the type of Warning |

Modify to include the type of warning |
|
Re-open the sequence we want to apply the content warning |
|
Then drag the Content Warning Sequence to the source window so it becomes a source to edit into the timeline |

Patch V1 to V4 or the top most track of your timeline so the overlay is over all your video tracks.

|
Suggest a 4 second duration of the length of the warning being displayed
|
|
Drag the overlay file on to the top most track
Make sure that you don’t overwrite any existing video and audio |
|
Add a Fade in and out to the overlay
Click on Effects tab |
|
Drag the cross fade to either side of the content warning clip
Play it back and make sure that the viewer can read it twice to make sure the duration is correct and it looks as you would expect. |
