CMB 4.130 TV Production Control Room - Mitti Playback
These are instructions specific to the two workstations in CMB 4.130 named Playback Station 1 and Playback Station 2.
Begin by logging into the system you have been assigned to with your EID credentials.
Once it you have successfully logged in you will need to open a browser and go to the Journalism Box folder where the news packages and commercials will be uploaded.
In there you will find a folder called Mitti Project. Copy that folder to the workstation you are logged into. You can copy it to the Desktop, Downloads folder, Documents folder, or where ever, but just note where you downloaded it too.
On the workstation, find the folder and the default Mitti project file inside that folder. Double click on the default Mitti project file and it will launch the Mitti application and should already have the default settings you will need.
From the Box folder download the News Packages and Commercials you will need for the show. All the media you will need should be on your local system. Do not try and play it back from the network or the web.
IF AFTER LOADING THE NEWS PACKAGES THE SWITCHER OR AUDIO BOARD ARE NOT GETTING SIGNAL FROM YOUR WORKSTATION THEN GO TO THIS LINK AND CHECK THE SETUP SETTINGS >>>
Using the rundown of programming that should have been provided to you for the show you will now start to drag the news packages and commercials into the Mitti Playlist window in the correct order.
Once your playlist is in Mitti there are a few things to know and check to make the show run smoothly.
This is the playback button. You can also use the Spacebar on the keyboard. Pressing it will playback the clip that is next loaded for playback.
The clip that is ready to playback next is the one that has the Blue Bar to the left. You can chose a clip by double clicking on it.
Make sure the Loop and Transition functions are not highlighted in blue.
And these two buttons will select the previous and next clips in the playlist.
In each clip there is a button that will set what happens when the playback gets to the end of the clip.
If it is lit blue then playback will STOP at the end of the clip playback. This is what you will want for the News Packages.
If it is NOT lit blue then playback will CONTINUE to the next clip. This is what you want for the Commercials (except the last one, let it stop).
