Local Administrator Access to your Computer
Use a standard account when operating a computer on a daily basis. Using a privileged account puts you at greater risk from malware, viruses and ransomware. UT and Engineering policy dictates that you do not use a privileged account on a daily basis. If there is a need for an administrator privileged account, contact your IT staff. Based on the need, temporary administrator access or a secondary account with administrative privileges can be set up for required tasks.
For CII, NASCENT, TMI, and Dean's office users: Fill out this form to request temporary admin access. << That's a link, click it for the form
For Other Departments and Research Centers, please contact your IT group.
Once you have received your admin account, follow these IMPORTANT instructions for Installing Applications.
