Web Services - Publishing and Hosting
Web Services
MECH IT doesn’t directly support or manage department, faculty or research lab web services. Depending on your needs, MECH IT may be an informational conduit for certain aspects of the process and/or handle specific technical needs. Please keep in mind that University policy regarding commodity servers/services prohibits any individual or group from running their own web services locally (e.g. physical machine in office, research area, lab, assigned workspace, etc) without the consent of the Information Security Office. This includes collaborative services such as wikis or lab knowledge base.
The services below are suggested web services provided as common good by the University. If you feel the services below do not meet your required or anticipated prerequisites, please email mech-it@austin.utexas.edu for alternative solutions, such as leveraging fee for service provided by the University.
