What To Know: Borrowing Costumes As COFA Student, Staff, or Faculty
These Guidelines are for Theatre and Dance (TAD) and College of Fine Arts (COFA) students, faculty, and staff looking to borrow costumes for the purposes of:
COFA and TAD students faculty and staff may borrow costumes from UT’s Theatre and Dance Dept. for free for the above reasons. Students must be sponsored by a faculty or staff advisor. UT does not rent out costumes for events or Halloween. |

Appointments
Make an appointment at least 24 hours in advanced by emailing us at utcostumerental@gmail.com
Email us for our semester hours or view the appointment board outside the stock cage
Appointments are 1 hour long (negotiable up to 3hrs depending on amount being pulled and travel) please plan accordingly!
Please provide this info in your email:
o Who is coming to this appointment. There must be a costume designer or coordinator in charge of handling and maintaining costumes
o contact information of the faculty or staff in charge of the class or studio project
o What are you looking for? Period costumes? Modern costumes? Menswear, women's wear
Þ Mainstage shows are given priority so some items may not be available to pull.

Contracts
Contracts will be sent via DocuSign, if there are issues please let stock management know and we will provide a paper copy at your appointment
A faculty contact must be provided for student borrowers
What cannot be borrowed:
Jewelry
Shoes
Hats (Must be approved by Stock Supervisor)
Hosiery
Belts and suspenders
Real Fur
Green Tag Items
Period items (1700s-1930s, Must be approved by Stock Supervisor)
Vintage items (1940s-1980s Must be approved Stock Supervisor)
Theft and Responsibility
Items loaned to you are your responsibility and must be held in a secure location under lock and key. Lockers are located in the Winship building in the Brockett Dressing rooms and the 2nd floor bathroom. Under no circumstances should costumes be left visible in a car, in a classroom or studio. Items lost or stolen will be the responsibility of the borrower who will be charged the value of items lost.
Returning Items
A return date will be negotiated at the time of the rental.
If the renter cannot return costumes at the agreed date the renter MUST contact the Stock supervisor or pay the late fee.
Items borrowed must be returned with all alterations, safety pins and show labels removed.
Items used for projects MUST BE CLEANED. For items dry cleaned the renter MUST PROVIDE RECEIPTS.
