All first-year ChE graduate students are required to attend the departmental seminar and register for ChE 085 in the fall and spring semesters. In the case of a course conflict, students may defer the seminar requirement to the next year. A student can miss no more than two seminars per semester. Inform the Graduate Program Administrator if you are unable to register for ChE 085 for fall and/or spring semesters.
- Incoming students should register for CHE 085 in addition to the three required courses.
Example of Fall schedule - CHE 085 (Seminar), CHE 387K (Thermo), CHE 384T (Kinetics), and Elective = 9 hours
Example of Spring schedule - CHE 085 (Seminar), CHE 381N (Transport), Research, and elective = 9 hours
- Students who have entered doctoral candidacy could register for CHE 185 (departmental seminar), CHE 399W (dissertation), a three-credit organized course, and CHE 285 (research).
- An exception is made for continuing students who must register for 9 credits; these students may register for CHE 085. For example, a student may register for CHE 399W (dissertation), CHE 397M (internship), an additional three-credit organized course, and CHE 085.
