Background of KitchenAid mixer
KitchenAid mixers have been around for more than 100 years. The modern mixers are characterized by a compact, sturdy and well-functioning design. I reverse engineered the "Professional 5 Plus model", which I have at my house.
The primary goal of this machine is to mix the ingredients that are put inside the silver bowl. This device is used in the kitchen to make dough, such as cookie or pizza dough. Normally this process would be carried out by hand, which, from experience, is fairly tiring. This mixer allows the user to use the electrical energy from the plug to make dough, saving themselves a lot of work.
The 3 primary goals of this mechanism are
- provide enough torque to mix the ingredients
- provide a variation of rotational speeds that the user can adjust
- allow the bowl to translate vertically to regulate mixer height
