Make Me Admin for Windows
Make Me Admin is a handy Windows application that gives temporary Admin Rights to your Standard User Account. This means you can run applications as an administrator or install updates for third-party software without needing help from Desktop Support or having a permanent local admin account.
How it works:
Automatic Installation: The application will be installed on your computer automatically from the Software Center. If you ever need to reinstall it, you repeat the process via the Software Center.
Temporary Admin Rights: Make Me Admin will grant you Admin privileges for 10 minutes, after which your account will automatically revert to a Standard User.

Make Me Admin Steps
When you are logged in with an EID as a standard user and need Admin Rights:
Launch Make Me Admin from the Windows Start Menu
Select "Grant Me Administrator Rights"
The Make Me Admin window will minimize to a small lock icon in your taskbar.
A Windows alert will briefly pop up in the notification area confirming Admin Rights have been granted.
After 10 minutes, Make Me Admin will automatically revoke your Admin Rights.
Running an Application as Admin
Once Make Me Admin has granted Admin Rights, Windows will still default to running applications as a standard user. To use your admin rights:
Right-click on the desired application.
Select 'Run as Administrator' from the context menu.
When prompted for an admin username and password, enter your standard EID login information.
