Welcome to the Department of Educational Psychology! This checklist is designed to help you navigate your first semester in the program. EDP won’t track your progress on the checklist - it’s a handy tool to help you stay on track ahead of Orientation and at the start of your first semester. Be sure to bookmark and refer to the EDP New Student handbook page as well.

Check for any pending requirements in MyStatus and your Registration Info Sheet

Access your UT Student Email

Set up Duo multi-factor authentication
For accessing Canvas, Zoom, library resources, etc.

Verify your UT Health Services documents: requirements for new US students and International students

Set up UT Direct Deposit (for scholarship/fellowship payments, payroll, reimbursements). Note: UT requires an upgraded UT EID for direct deposit; verify/upgrade your EID here >

Familiarize yourself with Canvas
Used by most faculty for class materials

International Students: complete your MyIO check-in

Set up any academic accommodations needed

Arrange for housing

Review UT Transportation and Parking options

Familiarize yourself with UT Campus
Most of your courses will be in the George Sanchez Building (SZB).

Need a computer or software? The Campus Computer Store often offers student discounts
