About the Program
Department Chair
The Interim Chair of the Chemical Engineering Department, Dr. David Allen, is appointed by the Dean of the Cockrell School of Engineering and sets policies on a variety of academic and research issues and administers the department’s budget.
Graduate Advisor
The Interim Graduate Advisor, Lea Hildebrandt Ruiz, is appointed by the faculty and is responsible for the graduate program in the department, and advising graduate students who intend to obtain a degree in chemical engineering. The Graduate Advisor is also the Chair of the departmental Graduate Studies Committee.
Recruitment Chair
The Graduate Recruitment Chair, Adrianne Rosales, is appointed by the faculty, and is responsible for admitting and recruiting talented graduate students.
Graduate Program Administrator
The Graduate Program Administrator, Cristina Rodriguez, is the member of staff responsible for all administrative duties surrounding the graduate program. Email all inquires to chemegrad@utexas.edu
Graduate Studies Committee
The GSC consists of all members of faculty who are eligible to solely supervise ChE graduate students. All dissertation committees must include at least three of these members. For 2025-2026 & 2026-2027 the list is as follows:
