Basic Search

Note

If you are using a PID as a search term in Basic or Advanced Search, always enclose the PID in double quotes.

Searching by PID without double quotes will result in imprecise search result sets.

...

The Basic Search function allows you to search for a keyword across a predefined set of metadata fields available in the Solr index (e.g. title, subject, description, contributor, date, format, rights, full text). In the current DAMS implementation, a collection namespace can be selected to limit the search space.

Advanced Search

Note

If you are using a PID as a search term in Basic or Advanced Search, always enclose the PID in double quotes.

Searching by PID without double quotes will result in imprecise search result sets.

The Advanced Search function allows you to select specific metadata fields in the Solr index for a search, including a combination of search queries. With the advanced search, complex search queries can be constructed to limit the search space.
