...

  1. Request a key to open the doors and/or drawers to the media console (WIN 1.108 and 1.164 only) to access the instructional technology from the Media Support Services (AV) Office in Winship 2.114: (512) 232-5305.
  2. Touch the Touch Panel on top of the console to awaken it.
  3. Touch System Power On "button" on the Touch Panel to start projector (please wait a minute for it to "warm up").
  4. Touch the “button” of the component you wish to use located on the bottom of the touch screen.
  5. To use the MacMini computer in the console, log-in with your UTEID (don’t shut down the computer OR forget to log out when you are done).
  6. To use a portable computer, connect using the video and audio cables on top of the cabinet.
    1. Connect the HDMI cable, Display Port Adaptor, or VGA cable to the port on your laptop.
    2. Connect the audio cable to the Headphone port on your computer if playing audio.
  7. Use the MacMini to play a DVD (region 1 only). VHS A VHS-tape Player is no longer available on new Digital Systems, nor is a stand-alone DVD player.
  8. Touch System Power Off “button” on the Touch Panel to turn projector off, then touch "yes, I’m done".

  9. To use AirMedia (wireless presentation in 1.138 and 1.148) with a tablet or phone, download the Crestron AirMedia app, launch and follow instructions. Note: AirMedia does not officially support playing videos. That doesn't mean it won't play videos, but it does mean it's not supported if it doesn't play videos.
  10. Touch System Power Off “button” on the Touch Panel to turn projector off, then touch "yes, I’m done".

Instructions for Technology Classrooms without a Touch Screen - WIN 2.138:

2.138 does not have a touch panel, so the switcher with push buttons is in the cabinet with the components:

  1. Hold down the green Display Power button, also labeled PWR, for two seconds to turn on the projector.
  2. Press the button labeled with the component you wish to use (DOC for Document Camera, LAP for Laptop, MAC for the Mac computer, DVD for the DVD player, VHS for the VHS player). Control audio volume with the knob labeled VOL.
  3. To use the MacMini computer (WIN 1.148 only), log in with your UTEID. Don’t shut down the computer OR forget to log-out when you are done!
  4. To use a portable computer, connect using the video and audio cables on top of the cabinet. You will need a VGA adaptor to connect an Apple computer and newer PC's.
    1. A VGA port in your computer will look like this: 
    2. Connect the audio cable to the Headphone port on your computer if playing audio.
  5. The remotes to control the DVD and VHS players are in the media cabinet. Use the DVD player OR the MacMini to play a DVD (region 1 only).
  6. Hold down the green Display Power button for two seconds to turn off the projector.
