All the electronic components found in the low-voltage electronics enclosure can be found here.

DC-DC Converter (Power Supply)

The DC-DC converter is what takes power from the high voltage (HV) power from the battery and steps it down to 12V to provide power to the low volage system.

The DC-DC converter is connected to the secondary power board which is connected to the fusebox

Secondary Power Board / Supplemental Power Board

The secondary power board will either be powered by the DC-DC converter or 2 supplementary batteries.

During startup, the board will be powered by the supplemental battery, but once the ignition sequence is done and BPS has declared it safe for the car’s system to be powered by our battery pack, the secondary power board will switch what’s powering the fusebox to the DC-DC converter

Fuse Boxes

There will be two fuse boxes inside the EE

These fuse boxes will be powered by the secondary power board and will supply power to all low-voltage components on the car.

MPPT Board (x3)

The MPPT board is what measures the current of each subarray

Essentially it tries to ensure that the we are getting the most power out of each subarray

Since we have three subarrays, we need three MPPT boards (hence MPPT A-C)

The MPPT boards talks to each other and the other boards in the car through Controller Area Network (CAN)

Fuse Box A

There will be one 12-port fusebox inside the LV Enclosure to power all LV components of the car. The fusebox will be powered by the Secondary Power Board.

Blackbody A (RTD Board)

The RTD detects the temperate sensors within the array

As of 2023, these sensors have not been implemented, but we left a spot for them within the EELVE.

Horn Board (1-Channel Relay)

...

The ethernet cable should have its own hole on the top of the electronics enclosure

Contactor Driver Board (x2)

There are two contactor drivers located inside the EE.

  • Array Contactor Driver
  • Motor Contactor Driver

These boards control the HV Contactors and are part of the ignition sequence.

Kilowav Contactors (x2)
