Sailing involves the need to be able to quickly and effectively grab rope to adjust the direction of the boat. For a person suffering a handicap, specifically one that limits the ability to strongly grip the rope, this can make sailing Sailors with severely weakened grip strength can find it difficult and almost impossible to manipulate their sail boat due to the importance of grabbing and adjusting ropes constantly. Because of this our group set out to develop a tool that could assist users in gripping rope who are suffering from an injury that limits their grip strength.
