What is Applocker?

Engineering has a security policy in place called AppLocker.  Applocker restricts which applications can run on a managed PC.  This policy is part is part of standard best practices used thoughout the college and provides an important line of defence against malware or other infections.

When an application is blocked by Applocker you will get this error message.

What applications are allowed?

When installing software, simply copy the installation executable or script to the folder: C:\Software

Here is the list of white-listed folders: 

C:\Software  >> Good place to run software installations
C:\Users\*\Coding  >> Good place for building and running code

Standard Applocker whilte-listed folders:

C:\windows\*
C:\Program Files\*
C:\Program Files(x86)
