Rubric for Evaluating Campus Data Sets
Below is the scoring rubric for evaluating campus data sets for inclusion on the public-facing campus map.
Criteria
- Audience
- Campus impacts
- Criticality
Intended Audience
The public facing campus map is intended to support: campus visitors, students, faculty, and staff.
All Audiences | 3 Audiences | 2 Audiences | Students only | Operations Staff |
Information applies to all 4 types of map consumers. | Information applies to several types of map consumers. | Information applies to a few types of map consumers. | Information applies to only student map consumers. | Information applies to only operations staff map consumers. |
Campus impacts
Public facing campus map data must be impactful to its consumers.
Significant | Very Important | Moderate | Minor | Insignificant |
Information is of the upmost importance to all map consumers and/or provides critical life/safety data. | Information is important to a broad group of consumers. | Information is helpful to a broad group of consumers. | Information is helpful to a narrow group of consumers. | Information is unimportant to most map consumers. |
Stewardship
Map data owners must ensure that their data remains accurate, current, and complete. Criteria of highly invested data owners are:
- Maintains a single version of the truth (SVT)
- Has dedicated resources to maintain the SVT
- Has processes in place to respond to data changes
- Conducts periodic data reviews
Highly Invested | Very Invested | Mildly Invested | Marginally Invested | Uninvested |
Data owner satisfies all 4 criteria above. | Data owner satisfies 3 of the above criteria. | Data owner satisfies 2 of the above criteria. | Data owner satisfies 1 of the above criteria. | Data owner satisfies none of the above criteria. |
