Current MS Students Applying to the PhD Program

MS students in ECE are eligible to apply for continuation into the PhD program. To be considered, students must submit the following materials:

• One letter of recommendation from the faculty member who has agreed to serve as your PhD supervisor. This is mandatory—students must have a confirmed supervisor to be eligible for continuation.

• A brief Statement of Purpose (2–3 paragraphs) outlining your proposed research and your motivation for pursuing doctoral studies.

• An official UT transcript

• An updated resume

All application materials should be submitted as a single packet to Barry Levitch at blevitch@mail.utexas.edu at the beginning of your final semester in the MS program. These materials will be reviewed by the admissions committee as soon as possible.
