How to switch academic tracks once you are enrolled

Current grads requesting track change do not need to re-complete all the documents that new applicants to Graduate School submit. Track-change applicants must provide the following in order to complete your application.

1. A brief Statement of Purpose (like the one you completed when you first applied) summarizing your interest in your new track. This SOP need only be one page. 2-3 paragraphs is adequate.

2. Your updated resume

3. One recommendation from a Texas ECE faculty member endorsing your transfer to your new track. Optimally, the professor should be affiliated with one of the track’s research areas. The recommendation can be e-mailed directly to me. If your referee is agreeing to supervise your research, that should be noted in the recommendation.
