Fishes of Texas Project Documentation

People and Sponsors

Primary contributors since the inception of the project in the 1980's are Drs. Clark Hubbs (deceased), Gary Garrett and Robert Edwards. Starting in the late 1990's Dr. Dean Hendrickson at the Texas Natural History Collection became involved in the project to develop its database and website and began data compilation. Starting in 2006 Adam Cohen (TNHC Collection Manager) joined the team as the primary data and project manager. Tomislav Urban has been critical to the project as its primary technical support and development for the website and database. Others who have contributed significantly to the project include Ben Labay, Dr. (Floyd) Doug Martin, Jeremy Harrison and Melissa Casarez. Dr. Gary Garrett, formerly at Texas Parks and Wildlife, joined the team in 2015. Other contributors have helped in diverse ways as student employees, volunteers, data and other content contributors.

We thank the thousands of collectors who since the 1850's have deposited specimens in the contributing fish collections and gratefully acknowledge the institutions that maintain those collections. Without all of these people and institutions this project obviously would not have been possible.

Finally, we acknowledge all of those site users who have contributed their comments and content to the overall project.
