3D Printers at PRC (Summer 2023)

Bambu Lab X1 Carbon - Electric

Filaments: ASA, ABS, TPU, PLA, PETG

Notes: Personally owned by a member on the electric team so be careful. It is fully stock otherwise though. Slicing should be done through the Babu Studio using the preset for the X1 Carbon

Ender 3 V2 - Solar

Filaments: TPU, PLA, PETG

Firmware: Marlin 2.2.1 Custom Configuration (UBL)

PrusaSlicer Configuration:

Notes: Personally owned by member on solar team and heavily modded. Extruder has been converted to a Creality Sprite Extruder Pro with a hardened steel 0.4mm nozzle and a Creality CR Touch for auto bed leveling. Additionally, it has modded Marlin software with custom layouts and additional features such as bed tramming (used to check levelness across the 4 adjuster knobs) and unified auto bed leveling. The extruder has modified cooling using 24V 5010 blower motors mounted on this custom shroud and with this custom part cooling ducts. All these modifications should allow this printer to be run at 300C so once in a filtered enclosure, it should be good to print ASA and ABS.

Creality CR10 - Solar

Filaments: PLA, PETG

Firmware: Marlin (Standard CR10 software off the website)

Prusa Slicer Configuration: (Untested)

Notes: Personally owned by a member on solar. It is completely stock, however, the filament runout sensor is not mounted anywhere and currently just has filament sitting inside of it to trick the printer into printing. Would be wise to fix this and remount it to the printer, however, in its current state it is functional. Just keep an eye out for it falling out and causing the printer to stop functioning. The printer also has a slight offset to be too high so using a z-height offset of -0.2mm to get the first layer to adhere properly. The other option is to up the flow rate to 125 for the first layer but that has the off chance of melding the parts together and if not changed after the first layer, can cause the print to fail.
