Responsibility and Respect
Getting Started
Congratulations! You've been selected as a preceptor! Now what?
We know that this role can feel overwhelming at first. We suggest the following checklist to help you get organized and launched successfully:
These things should happen as part of the selection and notification process:
- I got trained
- I know who my senior preceptor is and how to contact him or her
- I know when and where my weekly planning meeting will be
- I know the date and location of my first study group
- I know who my preceptor partner is and how to contact him or her
These are the steps you need to take:
- I have talked to my preceptor partner (by email is fine) about the first study group
- I have read AND PRACTICED "Starting a study group"
- I have a copy of the agenda for my first study group
- I have read about and set a skill goal for myself
