How the UT Enterprise REDCap Service is organized

The Enterprise REDCap Service can be visualized as three logical layers:

(1) The REDCap application software which is open-source and available to academic institutions at https://www.project-redcap.org/

(2) The computational infrastructure (servers, database, file-storage) on which the UT Austin Enterprise instance of this software runs. This is currently hosted in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud. It is managed by a team within UT Enterprise Technology.

(3) The REDCap project and end-user management IT staff, who are distributed among the various UT Colleges/Schools/Units (CSUs) that offer REDCap software to their research teams. Currently these CSUs are:

• Office of the Vice-President for Research (OVPR)

• Meadows Center - part of the College of Education

• Dell Medical School
